Two Blogs

This blog gives participants an opportunity to discuss all aspects of HIV and AIDS awareness, from news to advocacy to research. This blog is both an excellent resource and place to discuss any aspects of HIV and AIDS.

Another interesting blog is a more personal account of a man in Canada living with AIDS. The blog discusses this mans struggles to cope with the disease and offers links to videos and other sources to help tell his story.

Article

This article was from a local newspaper and discussed how college students at Texas A&M used a fashion show to promote awareness for HIV and AIDS. This is very similar to Aldo's awareness campaign to target youth through fashion and connect a variety of people through a similar interest.

The first website I visited was about general AIDS awareness and education. The objective of the organization is to educate about AIDS and HIV and provide a forum for knowledge exchange. The main page offers updated news about AIDS in areas such as public health and education and global challenges. The site also has links to FAQ's and gives visitors an opportunity to donate to AIDS.org and its cause.

The second was for an organization called HopeChild Sponsorship. This site is more specific in its discussion of AIDS and the impact of the disease in Africa. It specifically addresses the needs of children, families and communities that have been affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The organization offers some information about these issues and solicits donations that go directly to effected families in Africa.

The AIDS Awareness Blog gives users an opportunity to discuss a variety of topics related to HIV and AIDS awareness. I responded specifically to a blog about selling AIDS Ribbon Charms to promote awareness.
